2026 FIFA World Cup
Football, as the most popular sport, is a favorite game of millions of people around the world.
In June-July 2026, the 23rd World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
48 national teams from around the world will compete for the title of the best football team on the planet. The final will consist of 12 groups of 4 teams each, and the playoff final will involve the teams that took 1st and 2nd places in the group and the 8 best teams that took 3rd place and showed excellent play.
Who will reach the final?
11 teams have booked their participation in the final tournament: The USA, Mexico and Canada as hosts and organizers, as well as Japan, New Zealand, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan (1-time, debut), South Korea, Jordan (1-time, debut) and Australia.
The group stage qualifiers will take place in December 2025. By that time, 6 more countries will be known to participate in the World Cup.
Where will the football matches be held?
Since the FIFA Cup will be played in 3 North American countries for the first time, the football matches will be held in 16 cities in three countries: Canada (2 cities): 13 matches, Mexico (3 cities): 13 matches and the USA (11 cities): 78 matches.
The 2026 World Cup is the largest tournament in FIFA history: 48 countries, 104 matches, three host countries, and extensive infrastructure. This is a challenge for logistics, security, and the safety of fans, but also a unique chance to unite the entire continent as a world-class football arena.
